Vertex functions and infrared fixed point in Landau gauge SU(N) Yang-Mills theory

چکیده
The infrared behaviour of vertex functions in an SU(N) Yang-Mills theory in Landau gauge is investigated employing a skeleton expansion of the Dyson-Schwinger equations. The threeand four-gluon vertices become singular if and only if all external momenta vanish while the dressing of the ghost-gluon vertex remains finite in this limit. The running coupling as extracted from either of these vertex functions possesses an infrared fixed point. In general, diagrams including ghost-loops dominate in the infrared over purely gluonic ones.

The running coupling from the four-gluon vertex in Landau gauge SU(N) Yang-Mills theory
The running coupling of Yang-Mills theory has been investigated in a number of approaches in recent years [1]. The focus of these studies is the question how to extend our knowledge of the coupling from the perturbative, large momentum region towards small scales of the order of ΛQCD. Perturbation theory alone, plagued by the problem of the Landau pole, is clearly insufficient for this task. In...
متن کاملInfrared analysis of propagators and vertices of Yang–Mills theory in Landau and Coulomb gauge
Abstract The infrared behaviour of gluon and ghost propagators, ghost-gluon vertex and three-gluon vertex is investigated for both the covariant Landau and the non-covariant Coulomb gauge. Assuming infrared ghost dominance, we find a unique infrared exponent in the d = 4 Landau gauge, while in the d = 3 + 1 Coulomb gauge we find two different infrared exponents. We also show that a finite dress...
متن کاملInfrared behavior of the ghost propagator in the Landau gauge Yang-Mills theory
We prove that the Faddeev-Popov ghost dressing function in the YangMills theory is non-zero and finite in the limit of vanishing momenta and hence the ghost propagator behaves like free in the deep infrared regime, within the Gribov-Zwanziger framework of the D-dimensional SU(N) Yang-Mills theory in the Landau gauge for any D > 2. This result implies that the Kugo-Ojima color confinement criter...
متن کاملInfrared behavior of the ghost-gluon vertex in Landau gauge Yang–Mills theory
Institute of Theoretical Physics, U. of Tübingen, D-72070 Tübingen, Germany (Dated: February 2, 2008) Abstract A semi-perturbative calculation of the ghost-gluon vertex in Landau gauge Yang-Mills theory in four and three Euclidean space-time dimensions is presented. Non-perturbative gluon and ghost propagators are employed, which have previously been calculated from a truncated set of Dyson– Sc...
متن کاملImplications of Analyticity to Mass Gap, Color Confinement and Infrared Fixed Point in Yang–Mills theory
Analyticity of gluon and Faddeev–Popov ghost propagators and their form factors on the complex momentum-squared plane is exploited to continue analytically the ultraviolet asymptotic form calculable by perturbation theory into the infrared non-perturbative solution. We require the non-perturbative multiplicative renormalizability to write down the renormalization group equation. These requireme...
